Oral health refers to the health of the teeth, gums, and the entire oral-facial system that allows us to smile, speak, and chew.
Why is oral health important?
Oral health is a key indicator of overall health, well-being, and quality of life. HBCUs provide a unique opportunity to address a vital problem. Being cultural hubs for Black students, HBCUs have the power to not only emphasize the importance of oral health among Black young adults but also to connect them to the resources required to engage in quality care.
