What is mental health?
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. How we think, feel, and act is affected by our mental health. It also plays a significant role in how we deal with stress, connect with others, and choose to engage in health behaviors.

Why is mental health important?
Mental health wellness in early adulthood is linked to various important life outcomes, including college degree completion and economic productivity. Despite mental health’s explicit connection to college students, statistics for students of color — especially Black college students — reveal significant underutilization of mental health services and resources compared to their white counterparts.
